Our Streams room is separated into different areas, so that we may assist children in their individual learning and development needs. All of the areas offer a programme based on both free play and teacher directed activities. Our learning focus is supported by the children's interests that are being displayed at that time.
We cover all areas of the early childhood curriculum and provide a nurturing environment which is supportive of children's individual needs, interests, personal beliefs and cultures. Our Stream rooms consist of:
Our Rainbow room is for children around the age of 2 - 3.5 years and has been designed to support our younger children transitioning from the Wellsprings room, over to the 'big' side. The group size is small so that children feel comfortable and develop a strong sense of belonging. The teacher plans and implements activities around the needs and development level of children at this age. Throughout the day the children have plenty of opportunities to play outside in the outdoor playground, where they are encouraged to extend themselves physically and explore.
Our Transformers programme is available for children aged 4.5 - 5 years, with the availability of children staying until they are ready for school - up to 6 years of age. Children will be involved in a programme designed to extend their skills that will support them to transition to school life. A trained teacher runs this programme and being that it is a small sized group, the teacher recognizes individual needs and strengths and develops a programme based around each individual. There is a focus on encouraging confidence and self-esteem, alongside education of early literacy, maths and other relative curriculum.
